Who you're buying from

Creaturely Soap is a small independent operation run by Sora. Contact: sora@creaturelysoap.com.

What you're buying

There are two different things for sale here, and they work differently.

Recipes and guides are digital downloads — PDFs, nothing posted to you. Once payment clears, download links appear immediately on the confirmation page and are emailed to you as well.

Emailed links stay valid for 30 days. If yours expires, or a file won't open, email me and I'll send fresh ones. There's no limit on how many times you can ask.

The Box is a physical subscription: 4 full-sized bars of soap posted to you every 2 months. Its own terms are below.

The Box

The Box costs $62 including postage, charged every 2 months. Boxes are charged and sent on the 1st of February, April, June, August, October, and December, so the charge date is the same for every subscriber rather than counted from the day you signed up.

When you subscribe, your card is saved but nothing is charged until the next shipping date. The exact date is shown at checkout before you confirm. If you sign up in the last hour before a shipping date, you'll be charged straight away and included in that box — the checkout says so at the time.

Each box is a selection of whatever I've been making recently. You can't choose the scents, and the contents differ from box to box. Bars are handmade, so size, color and finish vary a little between them; that's the nature of the thing, not a fault.

Shipping is included and currently within the United States only, including Alaska and Hawaii. You're responsible for giving a correct address and for keeping it up to date — you can change it any time from the subscription page. A box returned because the address was wrong can be re-sent, but postage will need paying again.

Cancelling The Box

You can cancel at any time from creaturelysoap.com/box/manage. No email, no notice period, no reason needed.

Cancelling before your next charge date means you are not charged again and no further boxes are sent. Cancelling after a charge has gone through means that box is already paid for and will still be sent to you — the subscription simply ends after it.

Refunds

Recipes. Because these are digital files delivered instantly, a purchase can't generally be undone once you've downloaded it. That said: if a file is broken, if you were charged twice, or if you bought the wrong thing and haven't opened it, email me and I'll refund you. I'd rather do that than have you feel cheated over ten dollars.

The Box. Once a box has been charged it isn't refundable, because it gets made up and posted straight away. If a box arrives damaged, arrives with something missing, or doesn't arrive at all, tell me and I'll replace it or refund it — that's a different thing from changing your mind, and I'll treat it that way.

Depending on where you live, you may have statutory rights to cancel a purchase. By downloading a file immediately you may waive some of them for that file — but I'll still deal with genuine problems as above.

What you can do with the recipes

The recipes are for your own use. You're welcome to make soap from them, including soap you sell — I'm not going to police what comes out of your kitchen, and formulations aren't really ownable anyway.

What you can't do is redistribute the files themselves: don't share, resell, republish or repackage the PDFs, and don't reproduce the writing or illustrations elsewhere. If a friend wants a copy, send them the link rather than the file.

Safety, and the limits of what I can promise

Soap making involves sodium hydroxide, which is genuinely dangerous if mishandled. The recipes and the lye safety guide are written carefully and in good faith, but I can't supervise your kitchen, your equipment or your ingredients.

You are responsible for working safely, for verifying weights against a saponification calculator, and for any soap you make or sell. The material on this site is provided as-is, without warranty, and I can't accept liability for injury, loss or damage arising from its use — except where the law doesn't allow that limitation.

Nothing here is medical advice. Handmade soap is a cleansing product, not a treatment for any condition.

Payment

Payments are handled by Stripe. I never see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars, and any tax required in your location is calculated at checkout.

Changes

These terms may change. The version that applies to your order is the one on this page when you buy.
